Victoria and Aniket brought love letters to read before they eloped at Buffalo City Hall and it was the sweetest moment of the day. They read them to themselves then took a deep breath to enter the building, masked up and ready to say I DO! The officiant at Buffalo City Hall was so amazing and made it so special. I feel like we were all able to forget what was going on in the world even just for a moment.
After we left City Hall, we found an empty parking lot- hey sometimes we don’t need to be too fancy! We found a cute black wall to set up a little cake stand and popped some champagne! Victoria decided these traditions were worth keeping and I totally support it. Speaking of tradition, Aniket’s mother also sent her an array of colorful sarees to use for the day and we decided to make one part of the backdrop for this little setup- it turned out so stunning! I love little details like this that nod to a family member and just make it that much more special and exciting for when everyone gets to see the photos from the day!
After the cake was cut and champagne lost its fizz, we planned on taking more photos around the Cobblestone district but the overcast clouds rolled in and I had to make an audible. We b-lined it to the top of a parking ramp to make sure we caught the light just right and I am so glad they trusted me to do so because the view of city hall from up there is incredible. The wind was my best friend that day and I had another idea on how to incorporate the saree!
Reservations were made to end the evening at The Terrace at Delaware Park and we took just a few more photos as the sun officially set on Hoyt Lake and the night. Victoria and Aniket faced the circumstances head on and made their elopement exactly what they wanted it to be! It was such a magical day and I am just so lucky I got to photograph these two beautiful humans and their love for one another!
